 Town of Wolf River has begun a 1-year trial period of

designated ATV/UTV trails using only town roads.

County roads are not part of any routes and may not

be used to get from one town road to another. Any

misuse of these roads may result in portions of

town roads being removed from the ATV/UTV routes.

Maximum speed allowed is 35 mph.

All rules and regulations set forth in the Town of

Wolf River Ordinance #39 and by Wisconsin DNR

must be strictly adhered to. A copy of the map

is located on the town’s website highlighted in pink.

Electronic Ballot Tabulation

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, of a public test of the electronic ballot tabulation system will be held on October 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. to ascertain that the equipment will correctly count the November 6, 2018 Election votes cast for all offices and on all measures. All tests open to the public.

Recycling guidelines

The Town of Wolf River requires its residents to recycle.  Recently, a number of residents have become more careless when it comes to recycling and we need to redouble our efforts to get back on track when it comes to recycling to keep unnecessary items from going into our landfills.  The following is a list of items you should be recycling:

Plastics:  All food, beverage & household bottles, jars, and jugs.  Dairy containers and lids. Deli, bakery & produce containers and lids.   (NOT plastic wrap, plastic bags, Styrofoam, motor oil)

Metal:  Aluminum bottles & cans, steel, tin & bi-metal cans, beer & soda cans. (NOT aluminum pans or foil, empty paint cans or large/bulky scrap metal items)

Paper:  Newspaper & inserts, cardboard & paperboard (cereal box and the like), junk mail & catalogs, office & school paper, milk, juice, and soup cartons, phone books, magazines, & books.  (NOT paper contaminated with food or grease, tissue paper, gift wrap)

Glass:  Food & beverage bottles and jars, wine bottles, liquor bottles. (NOT window glass, ceramics, china or drinking glasses).

It is NO LONGER NECESSARY to separate these items as they will be separated at the recycling facility automatically.  You may place all items in a 30-50 gallon garbage can – remember that a real person has to lift this can so do not overfill it!

Items like tires, TV’s, bikes, computers and computer components, cell phones, microwaves, furniture, lawn chairs, washer, dryers, fluorescent bulbs, batteries, propane tanks are NOT ALLOWED to be recycled curbside.  These items must be recycled at the Winnebago County Waste Collection facility at the Sunnyview Transfer Station in Oshkosh.

SLOW–NO–WAKE FOR THE WATERS OF THE WOLF RIVER IN THE TOWN OF WOLF RIVER, WINNEBAGO COUNTY, WISCONSIN, FROM THE MOUTH AT LAKE POYGAN TO THE NORTH COUNTY LINE WITHIN 500 FEET OF ANY PERMANENT STRUCTURE.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, THE TOWN OF WOLF RIVER TOWN BOARD HAS DECLARED A HIGH WATER EMERGENCY FOR THE WATERS OF THE WOLF RIVER IN THE TOWN OF WOLF RIVER, WINNEBAGO COUNTY FROM THE MOUTH AT LAKE POYGAN TO THE NORTH COUNTY LINE, WITHIN 500 FEET OF ANY PERMANENT STRUCTURE. THIS DECLARATION IMPOSES

SLOW–NO–WAKE  ZONE  ON THE WOLF RIVER

IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE STATUTE §323.11 AND 323.14

THIS EMERGENCY DECLARATION WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL THE WATERS OF THE WOLF RIVER RECEDE TO A NONTHREATENING LEVEL.

NO PERSON SHALL OPERATE A BOAT FASTER THAN SLOW-NO-WAKE ON THE WATERS OF THE WOLF RIVER IN THE TOWN OF WOLF RIVER BEGINNING FROM THE MOUTH OF LAKE POYGAN AND EXTENDING TO THE NORTH COUNTY LINE, WITHIN 500 FEET OF ANY PERMANENT STRUCTURE, DURING A HIGH WATER EMERGENCY.

Enforcement of this Emergency Order shall be done by the

Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department, DNR, OR WOLF RIVER TOWN BOARD.

Notice is hereby given that the Open Book will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the Board of Review for the Town of Wolf River, Winnebago County, Wisconsin, shall be held on Thursday, May 17 2018, at 6:00 p.m., at the Wolf River Town Hall

The Town of Wolf River is looking for a few interested residents to serve as Election Inspectors for the upcoming 2018-2019 election cycle.  Most elections only require 3 Election Inspectors, but the mid-term elections require a few more individuals. The Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Inspectors are required to be present after the polls close to tally the votes. Some current inspectors work the entire day, beginning at 6:30 a.m. and usually are finished by 9:00 or 9:30 p.m.  We have also used splits shifts for Election Inspectors that run from approximately 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. until about 9:30 or until the job is completed.  If interested, please contact Susan Gilbert via e-mail through the contact form on this website or by calling the town hall and leaving a message at 920-446-3837.  Thank you!
